Increased optimism in UK financial services
Published 04/04/2011
UK financial services have enjoyed another quarter of recovering sentiment and volumes of business, according to the latest CBI/PwC financial services survey. Sentiment in the industry reached the highest level for over a year, and business volumes increased for the third quarter in a row. Banking was found to be the only sub-sector that bucked this trend.
The report also highlighted that regulation is seen as the greatest potential limitation on business development, and the leading driver of capital expenditure. 87% of all respondents felt that new regulations have made the UK less competitive, and compliance spending is expected to increase across the industry during the coming year.
