TheCityUK notes the publication of the Independent Commission on Banking's Interim Report. We will now consult widely with our members from across financial and professional services in the UK on the risks and benefits of the proposals, measuring the ICB's recommendations against their likely impact on the business and investment environment in the UK and the UK's competitive position as a financial services centre, which is arguably even more critical to long-term economic growth than the important points the ICB makes in the report about the need to increase competition in UK banking.
