Central and Eastern Europe
This region contains the new European Union members from the Baltic states, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and, from the former Yugoslavia, Slovenia.
The EU applicants are led by Croatia, with other former Yugoslav Republics looking towards eventual membership.
Central and Eastern European (CEE) markets are very much part of an EU-focused dialogue, and we provided support for the recent pre-Presidency visit to Poland by the Lord Mayor. Countries like Estonia view themselves as gateways to the Nordic region, while others are looking for infrastructure investment – with roadshows by the Croatian government and presentations by Polish municipal and provincial bodies – and some require continued legal assistance in their own markets.
