Financial Services Skills Taskforce

The Financial Services Skills Taskforce, announced by the Chancellor, was convened to ensure the sector has the skills it needs to remain globally competitive.

The Financial Services Skills Taskforce is chaired by Mark Hoban, former Minister, Chairman, Flood Re and Board Director of TheCityUK.

The Taskforce has been set up as a result of the financial services industry:

• wanting access to a better long-term pipeline of specialist skills to master the Digital Transformation
• improving genuine social, ethnic and gender diversity
• addressing competition from other industries in the attraction of talent needed to succeed
• supporting the adaptability of their people to retrain or refresh their skills over their working lives.

TheCityUK, in collaboration with the City of London Corporation and EY, is engaging with senior leaders from across the industry as well as representatives from further education to progress this work. The resulting report along with key recommendations will be delivered later this year.
