The Financial Services Skills Commission (FSSC) and Professional and Business Services Council (PBSC) – which is made up of sector representatives and is co-chaired by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy – are undertaking new research into the regional and national skills needs of financial and professional services businesses across the UK, with support from TheCityUK. The output of this research will be used to inform policy recommendations for employers, associations and government.
As part of this, TheCityUK will host a South West-focused virtual roundtable, examining employer skills needs and priorities.
Chaired by Stephen Noakes, TheCityUK’s City Chair for Bristol, the discussion is an opportunity for members to inform the forthcoming report by the FSSC and PBSC on regional and national skills priorities, which will be published in spring 2021.
The discussion will cover:
- What is the industry picture locally? Are particular functions, roles, specialisms located in the South West?
- How will disruption, driven by tech and AI, impact future skills needs?
- To what extent will companies and organisations be able to access the skills they require in future?
- What more can be done across South West to prepare for future skills needs?
A secure Zoom link will be sent after registration.
