The Anglo-Dutch Financial Services Dialogue (ADFSD) convened on Wednesday 2 July 2025 at the Embassy of the Netherlands to the UK in London. The meeting was preceded by a lunch hosted at the Dutch Ambassador’s residence, where Baroness Dianne Hayter of Kentish Town joined as guest speaker, offering reflections on the evolving political landscape in the context of the UK–EU reset.

The meeting agenda centred on circular economy initiatives, sustainable finance, and the broader geopolitical context influencing regulation and investment. Andrew Morlet of the UK Circular Economy Taskforce and Simon Rooze of the Dutch Banking Association shared national approaches to financing circular transitions, highlighting the role of financial services in enabling long-term change. Tim Fassam from Phoenix Group provided an update on the Mansion House Accord, discussing how pensions and insurance can support growth and attract private capital through public initiatives.

In the final session, Denzil Davidson OBE of Global Counsel explored the impact of global political shifts on sustainability regulation. The discussion addressed the recalibration of the EU’s green agenda, growing regulatory divergence, and the increasing importance of political risk in shaping investor decisions.
