International Financial Centres Group

Our International Financial Centres Group (IFCG) sets the strategic direction for international engagement for UK-based financial and related professional services firms. The group is comprised of companies with a strong international focus and oversees all our international-focused workstreams.

IFCG reviews the progress and delivery of TheCityUK’s international strategy for the UK-based financial and related professional services industry. The strategy, published in 2021, sets out how the UK can become the world’s largest international financial centre within five years if industry, government and regulators work together to promote the UK’s international competitiveness, and:

  • Secure the UK’s current financial and related professional services ecosystem.
  • Grow the UK’s share in global financial and professional markets.
  • Build new UK capabilities in key future growth markets - digital technologies, sustainable finance, international investment and risk management.

The international strategy explains how achieving this goal would create many more high-skilled, sustainable UK jobs and drive investment into businesses across the country.
