TheCityUK policymaker roundtable with Paul Rosen, former Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Treasury for Investment Security, and Partner at Latham & Watkins
This is an opportunity for members to discuss recent US developments in the investment security landscape including outbound investment screening, Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, and other national security policies. Members will hear from Paul Rosen, who is currently a partner at Latham & Watkins, and is the former Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Treasury for Investment Security.
While working as Assistant Secretary, Paul led the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). This included handling hundreds of transaction filings that amounted to hundreds of billions of dollars and shaped US investment security and national security policy. Paul also revamped CFIUS’s compliance and enforcement function, and oversaw a record number of CFIUS penalty and enforcement actions, as well as leading on the drafting and implementation of the new outbound investment review and enforcement program.
TheCityUK’s roundtable series brings policymakers together with senior representatives from our membership in a private setting, under the Chatham House Rule.
