Commenting on the death of Sir Winfried Bischoff, Miles Celic, Chief Executive Officer, TheCityUK, said, "We are deeply saddened by the death of Sir Win Bischoff. The financial and related professional services industry has lost one of its most prominent and long-serving leaders, and one of its most compelling advocates. He leaves behind him a strong and enduring legacy.

"Sir Win made an outstanding contribution to the industry. He was one of the founding figures of TheCityUK and a founding Chairman of what is now our Leadership Council. He remained actively involved with the organisation since then and had long been the UK Chair of our Anglo-German Financial Services Dialogue – an important practitioner-led group that works to strengthen bilateral relations between the industries in the UK and Germany.

“On a personal basis, I will always be grateful for the advice and support I received from him when I became CEO of TheCityUK and will miss his wise counsel, steadfast belief in our work and his sense of fun.

"Our thoughts go to Sir Win's family, friends and colleagues at this sad time."
