In his annual Mansion House speech, Philip Hammond announced the formation of a new Financial Services Skills Taskforce, to be convened by TheCityUK and Chaired by former City Minister Mark Hoban.
Commenting on the announcement, Miles Celic, Chief Executive Officer, TheCityUK, said,
The Financial Services Skills Taskforce announced by the Chancellor in his Mansion House speech is an important initiative to ensure the future success of our industry. TheCityUK is delighted to be working with HM Treasury and alongside Mark Hoban on this vital work.
“The long-term success of our industry relies on our ability to access the best talent from across the UK and overseas with the right skills, now and into the future. It is the number one issue for employers in our industry. Attention must be focused on this issue if we are to continue playing our role for customers and be a strategic asset for the UK.”
