TheCityUK responds to White Paper on future skills-based immigration system

Responding to the publication of the White Paper on The UK's future skills-based immigration system, Miles Celic, Chief Executive Officer, TheCityUK, said,

The White Paper makes a number of proposals that help to meet long-held industry priorities, not least in removing the limit on Tier 2 visas. This will help businesses access the skills they need and to plan more effectively. The commitment to reviewing the Shortage Occupation List is also welcome. It is essential that this is dynamic and reflects the current needs of the industry.

We also need to make sure the UK has an immigration system that works for the whole of our country, not just for London and the South East. It is right, therefore, that the government will consult further on the proposed £30,000 salary threshold.
