Our Activities
The role of the IRSG is to identify strategic level issues where a cross-sectoral position can add value to existing industry views and to identify opportunities for engagement with governments, regulators and European and international institutions. We work to promote an international framework that will facilitate open and competitive capital markets globally.
Committees
The IRSG develops its policy positions through a number of committees which comprise representatives from across City firms to ensure a cross-sectoral response.
From 2017, the priority areas for the IRSG reflect the UK’s EU referendum vote and preparations to leave the UK. Current workstreams include:
Global Regulatory Coherence Committee
Sustainable Finance Regulation Committee
While these areas will form the focus of the IRSG's work, the IRSG maintains a watching brief on a number of other dossiers including areas of past work. Position papers and reports on previous priority areas, including MiFID, Bank Recovery and Resolution and Shadow Banking can be found in the Our work section.
