TheCityUK has great pleasure to host a briefing on EU reform and the forthcoming referendum on the UK’s EU membership with David Lidington MP, Secretary State for Europe, on 9 March.
In between the February and March Council Summits, this event will provide the perfect opportunity to discuss the Prime Minister’s EU reform negotiations and the role of the different stakeholders in the EU membership campaign.
We are delighted that David Lidington has agreed to deliver the keynote speech at this event. The event will also include a panel discussion on the alternatives to EU membership and its implications for financial and related professional services, chaired by Anthony Hilton, Financial Services Editor, Evening Standard and including Alan Houmann, Chair of TheCityUK’s EU reform agenda working group and Sean McGovern, Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel, Lloyds of London.
The discussion will form part of TheCityUK’s ongoing engagement and research programme on Britain’s place in the EU. To allow for open and thought-provoking discussions the event will be held under the Chatham House rule.
