TheCityUK is pleased to announce the launch of a new report; Retail Financial Services: bringing real benefits to Europe’s customers, developed by the International Regulatory Strategy Group (IRSG), which we co-sponsor with The City of London Corporation.
This report is designed to help policymakers create a more modern policy and regulatory framework to help ensure the industry can meet changing customers’ expectations. It will present new evidence about the importance of addressing this issue as a matter of urgency to ensure Europe remains competitive and exploits the opportunities provided by disruptive and innovative technologies. It proposes 20 policy recommendations to help shape a dialogue on the fragmentation of the retail financial services markets in the EU and actions to encourage consumer trust in financial markets.
The report will be launched during a keynote speech by Mark Hoban, Chairman of Flood Re and Chairman of the IRSG Council and followed by a panel discussion between senior policymakers and leading practitioners from across the EU discussing the report’s findings.
Confirmed panellists include:
Vicky Ford, Conservative MEP and Chair of the International Markets and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO)
Olivier Salles, Head of Retail Financial Services and Payments, DG FISMA
Miles Celic, Director of Group Strategic Communications, Prudential and Chairman of the Report Steering Group.
The launch will be followed by a drinks reception.
Policymakers, financial services practitioners and key opinion formers are invited to discuss the implications of this report and we would be delighted if you could join us for what promises to be an interesting debate.
