This Policymaker Roundtable with the Rt Hon Dame Cheryl Gillan offers members an opportunity to gain insights from a former Cabinet Minister and a senior Conservative backbench MP. The event will also allow for a discussion on the view among Conservative backbench MPs and a future Conservative Party policy agenda under a new Prime Minister.
Dame Cheryl Gillan is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Chesham and Amersham and was first elected in 1992. Previously she was Secretary of State for Wales (2010 - 2012), and has held a number of roles in the Conservative Party including Shadow Secretary of State for Wales (2005 - 2010). In the 2019 Conservative Party Leadership contest, she acted as co-Chair of the 1922 Committee, the influential group of Conservative backbench MPs.
