Launch of: 'TheCityUK Exporting From Across Britain' report
This new report comes as Britain continues to develop its trading relationships post-Brexit and at the same time seeks to level up the country by growing prosperity in every part of the United Kingdom.
The report considers the contributions made by the financial and related professional services industry in creating exports in every region and nation of the UK. Our industry is the biggest exporting service sector in almost every British region and nation. Our 2020 report, highlighted that financial and related professional services contributed £56bn to the UK’s trade surplus in 2019.
The report’s key findings are based on engagement across the industry, including data outlining the contributions of individual regions across the country to the UK’s services exports market, and how the industry and government can work together to further bolster the UK’s position as a leading financial and related professional services net exporter. The report will also consider the UK’s role as a centre for financial services in forming new trade relations post-Brexit, and how our work with government can highlight the vital role of the industry in ongoing trade negotiations.
