Join us for a breakfast reception and parliamentary launch of our new report 'Local engines: The geography of UK-based financial and related professional services employment’.
This breakfast reception and parliamentary launch will bring together members, parliamentarians and stakeholders to discuss the contribution of the financial and related professional services industry to jobs and employment across the regions and nations of the UK.
The event marks the launch of TheCityUK's new report, Local engines: The geography of UK-based financial and related professional services employment. The reception will be hosted in the Churchill Rooms in the House of Commons and will provide an opportunity for attendees to engage directly with parliamentarians and explore how policymakers and industry can work together to support growth, employment and prosperity across the UK. Short speeches will take place at around 10:00 and we will be inviting parliamentarians to drop-in during the morning to engage with TheCityUK and our members. Refreshments will be provided.
Hosted by Lauren Edwards MP, a member of the Financial Markets and Services All-Party Parliamentary Group, and sponsored by BNY, the event will highlight the partnership between the industry and policymakers. Against a backdrop of a weakening UK labour market, discussions will focus on the sector's continued contribution to employment and job creation, as well as the conditions needed for financial and related professional services to continue supporting communities and economies throughout the UK.
